- This
summer I have volunteered to be part of a team heading to Africa in June, specifically
to the sub-Saharan nation of Zambia.
- Zambia
is one of the nations that was hit hardest by the AIDS pandemic, leaving it with
over a million AIDS orphans. with widespread poverty, medical care is in very
short supply, and many cases go untreated.
| Our
mission is to be an agent of hope and healing to many in this nation, working
alongside a church in the capital of Lusaka in their efforts to bring lasting
change to Zambia. On the mission, we'll be reaching out in the following ways:
Orphan
Ministry - Ministering and teaching at a Lusaka orphanage - spending time
and giving love, love they've most likely never known.
Feeding
Program
- Participating in a feeding program in the undernourished country side, handing
out fod to the under-nourished.
Medical
Care - Providing much needed supplies and some care to the severely underserved
population
